    Program Announcement
The Advanced Management Program originally scheduled for 05 APR–21 MAY 2021 will now be offered virtually 05 APR–25 JUN 2021. If you have any questions, please contact executive_education@hbs.edu.

    Summary

Market volatility, digital transformation, and innovation, are changing the way companies compete in every industry—and increasing the demand for business leaders who are global changemakers. Whether you are looking to move up to the executive suite or are about to take on greater leadership responsibilities, the Advanced Management Program is designed to bring about a full-scale change that empowers executives to create and renew competitive advantage for their organizations.

One flagship program. Two unique formats.

Virtual continuous format (Spring 2021) – The program will take place virtually over the course of 12 weeks with three blocks of varying time commitment.

    • Block 1 (05-30 APR 2021): Intensive class schedule of 2 to 3 classes per day, Monday through Saturday. Participants can expect to commit to 6 hours per day for class sessions and other sessions in the form of faculty office hours and coaching. Case study preparation, virtual learning groups, and networking events will be in addition to the time commitment referenced above.
    • Block 2 (01-30 MAY 2021): Less intensive schedule with a combination of personal case and self-paced, asynchronous work. In addition, there will be 2 to 4 live online classes, group work, and coaching sessions per week. Participants can expect to commit 10-12 hours per week.
    • Block 3 (31 MAY-25 JUN 2021): Intensive class schedule of 2 to 3 classes per day, Monday through Saturday. Participants can expect to commit to 6 hours per day for class sessions and other sessions in the form of faculty office hours and coaching. Case study preparation, virtual learning groups, and networking events will be in addition to the time commitment referenced above. A virtual graduation will be held on the last day of the program. All participants will become members of the HBS alumni community on June 25th.
    • Capstone Event (Optional): After completing AMP and earning alumni status at the virtual graduation, you can expect to receive an invitation to campus when it is safe to congregate together. We will host a 5-day event with class sessions, coaching, networking events and celebrations.

Virtual learning groups will be designed with consideration of participants' preferred meeting times and time zones.

Please note: Pre-program work will begin about 1 month prior to the start of the program. Pre-work will include self-paced, asynchronous online coursework; introductions to your virtual learning groups, faculty, and your HBS executive coach; and community networking events. Participants should set aside 12-15 hours per week to complete pre-work before the start of Block 1.

Blended modular format (Fall 2021) – Four highly integrated modules are presented over 6 months, with 6 weeks of study on campus—two on-campus modules and two virtual, self-paced modules. Participants should set aside 8-10 hours per week to complete work during each virtual, self-paced module.

As a result, our policy is that participants can miss up to 5 class sessions.

If you anticipate missing more than 5 class sessions, we suggest moving to a future version of AMP.
