As science-based organizations become key drivers of the global economy, their leaders face the daunting challenge of turning innovation into opportunity. Leading Science-Based Enterprises will help you to become a better executive and leader as you consider new paradigms for your enterprises, including accessing global sources of research, restructuring research organizations, and strategically positioning your company in a changing world.

What You Can Expect
Designed for executives in science-based industries, the program focuses on enhancing the skills essential to advancing a product beyond the lab. While learning to identify and capture breakthroughs with market potential, you will acquire the tools to integrate global information networks with in-house research capabilities and weigh the opportunities against ongoing development investments. You will leave the program prepared to develop an executive team with a deeper understanding of both science and business.

Your Course of Study
With the focus on linking scientific innovation to unmet marketplace needs, you and your peers will examine new approaches to real-world issues that confront science-based enterprises. Through relevant Harvard Business School case studies, insightful lectures, and dynamic panel sessions, you will learn to analyze complex financial markets, identify and implement proven strategies, and attract and retain leading scientific talent.

Who Is Right for the Program
This Executive Education program is created for executives within two to three years of general management assignments in a science-based company; these may include chief science officers, chief technology officers, directors of business development and research and development, and managers who are about to move into these positions. Academic leaders responsible for enhancing scientific innovation efforts within a university setting also will find this program highly appropriate; these may include provosts, vice presidents of research, or technology licensing officers.
