What You Can Expect
GloColl was designed by HBS faculty to create a powerful network of management educators who are dedicated to best practices in participant-centered learning around the globe. To facilitate the exchange of ideas among the faculties of prestigious schools of management, the program fosters participant-centered learning through teaching innovation and course design. In addition, GloColl helps business school faculties adopt this methodology at their own institutions and at prominent schools worldwide.
To ensure that the program is relevant, the design of GloColl is the result of extensive, long-term discussions among HBS faculty and the deans and rectors of leading business schools across the globe. GloColl provides a valuable opportunity for participants to:
- Discuss the appropriate scope of management education
- Understand the major differences between participant-centered learning and traditional teaching methods
- Rethink personal assumptions about what constitutes effective teaching
- Explore better ways to connect with students
- Acquire innovative skills and tools for practice-oriented teaching and learning
- Develop case studies and design relevant courses
