Executive Education Technology ServicesPersonal LaptopsHarvard Business School does not require you to have your own laptop while attending an Executive Education program. The bedroom PC we provide will allow you to complete your coursework and access the outside world. If you do choose to bring a laptop with you, the information below will help maximize your laptop's performance. Laptop Support:Executive Education Technology Services (EETS) provides limited help with your laptop while you are on campus. We can help with connectivity and basic software issues. We do not install or uninstall software, or perform hardware services on personal laptops. These issues are best addressed by your organization's IT department. Show your IT contact this webpage, and have them contact us if they have any questions or concerns. Troubleshoot network connectivity Wireless Access:You will be able to access our wireless network while on campus. Please see our instructions for configuring your laptop here. Direct Internet AccessIn many cases, it is possible to plug an ethernet-enabled personal computer directly into the high-speed HBS network without the need to dial into an ISP or your company's network. Ethernet cables are available free of charge at the Program Office in the building you will be staying in. Other Networking EquipmentWireless access points, servers, or network routers are not allowed on the HBS network as they can interrupt service for other computers on campus. Please be sure to leave these devices at home. PrintingWe provide an Hewlett-Packard 4000N series laser printer in each living group that is accessible from your HBS bedroom computer through the network. To print from your personal computer, you need to have the HBS printer with the appropriate driver installed. Drivers for Hewlett-Packard 4000 series printers are typically included with the Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems. If you do not have the required drivers, you can download them directly from the HP web site . It is now possible for participants to print from their personal laptop to any network connected printer in McArthur, Baker, and Mellon. If you are interested in such functionality and would like to install a network printer, please contact Executive Education Technology Services.
