Restoring Competitiveness for Global Success

HBS has a longstanding intellectual tradition of taking on critical business challenges, developing powerful ideas, and transforming them into best management practices. To strengthen the competitiveness of America and contribute to the growth of the global economy, we have created the U.S. Competitiveness Project.

This research-led effort improves the ability of firms operating in the United States to compete successfully in the global economy. Working with colleagues from other leading institutions, the HBS faculty is conducting research in manufacturing, entrepreneurship, innovation, company location, and firm governance.

In the March issue of Harvard Business Review, HBS Dean Nitin Nohria explains why the sharpest insights on American competitiveness often come from abroad—"Why U.S. Competitiveness Matters to All of Us."

During the year, HBS also will embark on a comprehensive public engagement effort, with the goal of learning from and inspiring action among leaders in global business and other arenas.

In India, for example, we have launched a state-of-the-art classroom at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai, which is virtually indistinguishable from its MBA and Executive Education counterparts in Boston. Through this amphitheater-style venue, HBS faculty will offer programs and symposia to leaders in business, government, and academia on topics such as building a global enterprise, leading innovation, managing growth, aligning strategy and execution, and corporate accountability.

At HBS, we understand that great business leaders never stop growing. That's why we continue to update our more than 80 Executive Education offerings and design new programs that incorporate fresh insights from our research centers around the world. Each offering is designed to help you expand your leadership skills, your worldview, and your global success.

As you explore our site, you'll discover why thousands of the world's top executives engage in the HBS learning that takes place across the globe each year.
