Privacy Statement
Harvard Business School Executive Education understands that the
privacy of its users is important. To that end, we have adopted the
following policy with regard to the collection, use, and dissemination
of any personal information that we may request or require from
visitors of the HBS Executive Education website (http://www.exed.hbs.edu/).
We are providing this policy below so that you may understand the terms
and conditions associated with the provision of any personal
information to us. Please note, however, that this policy has been
developed with the recognition that Internet technologies continue to
develop and evolve rapidly, and that such changes may require us to
alter our Privacy Policy. Any such alterations will not affect our
commitment to the protection of our visitors' privacy, and will be
posted on this page.
General Statement
HBS Executive Education will not sell, swap, rent, or otherwise
disclose to any third party any personal information provided during
the brochure or video request, and application process. HBS Executive
Education reserves the right to disclose this information under special
circumstances, such as in connection with judicial proceedings or if,
in the sole discretion of HBS Executive Education, disclosure is
necessary to protect HBS Executive Education or the President and
Fellows of Harvard College.
Information Gathering
The admissions process for HBS Executive Education programs requires
applicants to provide personal information and preferences. The
applicant also has the option of providing HBS Executive Education with
additional company information during this process. We encourage our
applicants to fill in all of this information, so that the Admissions
Committee can select the most qualified and diverse group from among
the pool of candidates, ensuring an interactive and invigorating
learning experience for all program participants.
Use of Information
The HBS Executive Education website staff uses your IP address to
help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website by
identifying (1) which parts of our site are most heavily used, and (2)
which portion of our audience comes from within the Harvard network. We
do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This
means that user sessions will be tracked, but the users will remain
anonymous.
We evaluate site usage by analyzing user information and
demographics, but only to generate aggregate statistical reports. At no
time do we disclose site usage by individual IP addresses. Web server
logs are retained on a temporary basis and then deleted from our
systems.
Our staff occasionally monitors search terms that users enter into the Harvard Search Engine, but this tracking is never associated with individual users.
HBS Executive Education uses pixels, or transparent GIF files, to
help manage online advertising. These GIF files are provided by our ad
management partner. These files enable the adserver to recognize a
unique cookie on your Web browser, which in turn enables us to learn
which advertisements bring users to our website. The cookie was placed
by us, or by our ad management partner. With both cookies and Spotlight
technology, the information that we collect and share is anonymous and
not personally identifiable. It does not contain your name, address,
telephone number, or email address.
