    • Use your money to buy happier time

      May 20, 2013 - CNN

The logic is so simple: If I work hard now, the money I earn will give me the opportunity to do all the things that make me happy later. What's the catch? It turns out that when we get into the habit of working and earning, it can be hard to stop. Instead of using our time to get as much money as possible, new research suggests that we'd be better off using our money to buy happier time.

    • 5 Ways Money Can Buy Happiness

      May 20, 2013 - US News & World Report

Not so fast, say two young academics. Elizabeth Dunn, an associate professor of psychology at the University of British Columbia, and Michael Norton, an associate professor of marketing at Harvard Business School, have written a new book called "Happy Money: The Science of Smarter Spending." In the book, they make a persuasive case that money does have the ability to buy happiness, and it's not how much money you have that matters, but how you spend it.

    • Making America an Industrial Powerhouse Again

      May 20, 2013 - HBS Working Knowledge

As part of his administration's strategy to rejuvenate American manufacturing, President Obama has called for the creation of a National Network of Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) to advance and diffuse novel manufacturing technologies. To launch it, he has allocated $1 billion in the 2013 budget.

    • The pursuit of happiness in the workplace

      May 19, 2013 - Financial Times

The combined interest of professors and students has helped drive enthusiasm, says Michael Norton, associate professor at Harvard Business School. “Teaching is dependent on what faculty are interested in and what students want to learn. I think there’s just a confluence now.”
